Geranium London Dry Gin 44%

Geranium Gin is the result of an unprecedented combination of passion and science from Hammer & Son, aiming to create the ultimate Premium London Dry Gin.

H. Hammer Sr. used his skills as a chemist, while H. Hammer Jr. drew on his affection for gin and experience as a judge at gin tastings, and from the beginning, they knew that a particular type of Geranium could add that special quality to the gin they were seeking.

A perfect mix of geranium from our organic grounds and 9 other carefully chosen botanicals are matured for 48 hours in the finest grain spirit before distilling. Subsequently, the purest water from our artesian well is added before the bottling with energy from sun and wind.

The result is an outstanding smooth and well-balanced gin with a delicate taste of Juniper, a crisp citrus-rosy Geranium aroma. We are proud to say that we have accomplished our goal and making one of the finest and most sustainable gins in newer times with this “spirit of a new generation”.

Geranium Gin 55°  Navy Strength

Geranium Gin 55° is to be used for those times when more intensity of the cocktail is needed and will be the perfect choice for a Dry Martini, G&T or Negroni and any other drink where a more powerfull gin has it's place.

55% is the perfect alcohol strength to add more weight and enhance the pleasantness of the botanicals, and still retaining the smooth and well-balanced impression that signifies Geranium Gin. The fact that 55° is the latitude of our distillery adds an extra dimension to the this Navy Strength edition of one of the world’s finest gins.

The phrase “proof” comes from the British Royal Navy’s “proof” test. They would take the gin, pour it onto gunpowder, and if it ignited, that would prove there is sufficient alcohol in the gin. In 1816, a device called a Sikes hydrometer was invented, which allowed the alcoholic strength to be precisely measured. The Navy then collected 100 samples of gin diluted to proof using the old gunpowder test and then measured the proof of each sample using one of the new hydrometers. The average was 95.5 on the Sikes scale, which equated to 54.5% alc./vol., thus this strength was adopted as standard Navy Strength.

Awarded in 17 different international spirits tastings and winning several cocktail competitions in Europe, Asia and USA, Geranium Gin has proven its high quality as a base spirit and bringing superior taste, flavour and balance to a cocktail.

Geranium Gin is produced with energy from sun and wind, and water from our own artesian well. Our effort in minimizing the use of packaging material and transport saves more than 40 ton of CO2 per year. And being as selfsufficient as possible, harvesting most of the botanicals from our organic grounds, we make sure that quality and sustainability go hand in hand.

ABOUT COCKTAILS

In earlier times, a gin based cocktail would consist of the gin added either fortified wines, citrus juices, syrups, liqueurs, bitters, fruits, spices and herbs, and served cold as in shaken, stirred or build over ice - or as a hot drink, if required.

Today, there are more than 10.000 gin based cocktail recipes, and most of these contemporary cocktails are made from the same principals i.e. boozy, sour, fruity, floral, bitter, spicy - cold or hot, or even as a shot.

Below, we have listed a small number of our favorite cocktails for your inspiration. Please feel free to make your own experiments, and please enjoy responsibly!

GIN & TONIC

The Gin & Tonic became popular after the Schweppes Company launched the Indian Tonic in 1875. Today there are overly many variations, and we believe that we all have our personal favorite. Here are some simple guidelines for you to make the best G&T:

  • Choose a large nice glass - can be a high ball, low ball or a wine glass “Barcelonian Style”.
  • The ice cubes must be large and at a good quality, since you want the drink to stay cold and fizzy.
  • Pick a quality tonic, preferebly organic and local, and mix this with your own preffered meassure of Geranium Gin.
  • Garnish with fresh or dry fruit, berries, flowers, herbs or whatever you may find suitable for your pallet and vision.

Liturally anything goes, as long as it taste good and looks nice!
